Laura
House

Founder & CEO:

Laura has specialised in internal communications for more than two decades. Before founding the-thread, she ran her own consultancy, leading strategic change communications projects for clients such as GSK, RSA Insurance Group, National Grid and Dixons Carphone. Previously, she was an award-winning consultant at a number of global communications agencies, including Ogilvy and H+K Strategies where she re-named, re-launched and led the People + Purpose practice to its most successful period in recent history, working with clients such as Novartis, Mars Petcare, Bacardi, Danone and the InterContinental Hotels Group. Laura gets inspiration and insight from her background in theatre and enjoys using creative practices and techniques from that world to create meaningful and engaging workplace experiences.

Liz
Oakley

Associate Senior Consultant

Liz started her career in public relations, gaining experience both in-house and agency side across a wide range of sectors.  Whilst at Compass Group, Liz developed her skills and passion for internal communications, and over ten years built a function where people communications took centre stage. Liz steered the organisation through acquisitions and helped to engage hundreds of thousands of people in key programmes and initiatives, which included campaigns on wellbeing and D&I. With grandparents who spent their lives on the stage, Liz is passionate about the power of communication and the art of storytelling. So, it’s no surprise that when she’s not looking after her two young children, you’ll find her tucked up on the sofa with a book.

Terri specialises in change management and engagement and firmly believes that the two go hand in hand. She has a passion for wine and is a French and Italian Wine Scholar and holder of the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. Terri’s almost always found with her border collie Rex in tow.
